Will and Why it is so Important

If there is one thing that you should do in a legal sense it’s a Will. There are several difference types of Wills and here I will explain them to you.

Will  A North Carolina Will also known as “Last Will and Testament” is a document in which you have prepared prior to your passing letting you pick who you want as the individual appointed Executor/Executrix of your Estate. In the Will you can list who you want to receive your assets. You can leave everything to one individual or you can list specific items to specific individuals. The Executor/Executrix is responsible for making sure the terms of your Will is carried out.

Trust Will- The Trust Will is made when there are minor children involved. The Trust Will is a document that you have prepared prior to your passing letting you pick who you want as the individual appointed Executor/Executrix of your Estate as well as Trustee in charge of handling the Trust for your Minor children as well as Guardian for your minor children.

POA– A Power of Attorney is a document that is recorded in the county that you reside, in this document you appoint a trusted individual as Power of Attorney. By doing this you are giving your permission to that individual to take care of your daily activities that you are not able to perform including, writing checks, paying bills or other decisions that may arise.

HCPOA- The Health Care Power of Attorney is a document in which you appoint an individual to make health care decisions on your behalf if you are unable to make them for yourself, the Health Care Power of Attorney is recorded with Secretary of State.
